Weekend Scoop (April 15-17)

Fri: Opera Blocks at Kings Head Theatre, Upper St, N1
A mash-up of 20 operas uncovering the building blocks (libretto, arias, trios etc.) of the form with sing-along Carmen using kids as characters, improv and more fun for ages 4 and up. 11am, £8. (Apr 15, also Apr 18-21)

Sat: Mini Cine Magic at the Tabernacle, Powis Sq, Notting Hill W11
A fun introduction to film for little kids, showing the Jungle Book with pre-show activities followed by an interactive screening where you can meet the characters! Prize for best fancy dress. 10am, all ages. £10 adv/£12.50 door (Apr 16)

Sun: Virgin London Marathon, London-wide
The annual race kicks off at 9am with a range of pros, amateurs and charity sponsored runners vying to beat the clock. Cheer them on along the route and support the Japanese runners doing it for their country. Visit the website for spectator guide and route. Free (Apr 17)
