3. The iPad
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this magic tablet?
Google ‘iPad’ and you’ll hit countless sites and forums doing nothing but what I call ‘Pad-hating’. Don’t listen to any of it.
If you’re considering investing in an iPad…leap in, the water’s beautiful.
I spent months dithering over whether to get an iPad or a Netbook and reading aforementioned forums, but it only took one visit to the Apple store and actually holding an iPad in my hands to make my mind up. And I haven’t let it go since.
Sure there are flaws (who’s perfect?) and the transition from laptop to iPad can be ‘aaaargh’ inducing.
Yet the sheer wonder of having a computer, a TV, a notepad, a library, a personal organiser, a DVD player, a piano, a sketchpad…and oh yeah, an iPod all in one gorgeous package? That’s what I call sex APPeal.
It’s been four months since I bought my iPad and already I can’t imagine life without it.
4. Our 5-year anniversary
We didn’t go to Paris. We didn’t drink champagne. We didn’t even exchange gifts.
On the anniversary of our five year marriage, the hubby and I were stuck at Nice airport waiting for another delayed flight with two sick children in tow.
After what seemed like an endless return journey with both boys crying throughout the flight, and one son vomiting quite spectacularly over his mama, we finally made it home exhausted.
After the kids were asleep, we just curled up on the couch in each other’s arms. Again, no fanfare, no roses. Just the shared understanding that yes, we’re in this together.
And we’re in it for the long haul.

Hi Luschka, glad you enjoyed. It really was a strange anniversary, but in some ways the most romantic!
