The streets of London are littered with baby footwear.
I don’t know what it is that compels our tots to whip off their socks and shoes at the drop of a hat (who’s dropping all those hats anyway!), but it’s one of my pet peeves.
Especially when some kind stranger observes, ‘Your son only has one sock on.’
I know, I dressed him like that on purpose when heading out into the freezing snow. I’m going for a sort of reverse Michael Jackson look.
When my eldest was born, Gap socks were a popular mainstay – but even those seem to have fallen by the wayside. And as for shoes, don’t waste your money on that cute pair of baby Nikes that are a) not too clever for teeny feet and b) destined for a pavement near you.
The only pair of shoes that Jed hasn’t managed to jettison to the wind are his Daisy Roots. Miraculously, even now as I type, they are attached firmly to his feet.
Believe it or not, we’ve had them since Ezra was a baby. They were a gift from a cousin who, being a children’s retailer at the time, obviously knew her stuff.
Daisy Roots is the only leading UK manufacturer of shoes for newborns up to age 4 using eco-friendly chrome free leather. Just as usefully, their shoes are comfy, they allow growing feet to breathe and – I repeat – they stay on!
Despite the brand’s girly name they also do loads of styles for little lads.
Jed is enjoying learning to toddle in (and chew on) his Dog on Navy set. Being a bit of a big cat stalker myself, I’m loving these Lions.

I LOVE Daisy Roots shoes! My kids do the Cinderella thing and leave one shoe every where. They are unable to do that with their DR’s, not for lack of trying I must add. I didn’t know there was an online store, I usually buy from Trotters.Good to know.

Daisy Roots rock. I’m seriously impressed that we still have Ezra’s old pair and desperately hanging onto those. Although now that Jed’s become a full-blown toddler (he’s really taken off since yesterday, no holding him back), might be time for an upgrade ;-)
