I first met Emma of Rockabye Baby at a Bubble London childrenswear trade fair a couple of years back. I fell in love with her ‘hard rock life’ styling for ages 0 to 10 and we swapped details.
It was lovely to hear from Emma again recently, when she reached out with an offer of clothes for the boys to review, and a giveaway for my readers. How could I refuse? Have you ever seen such funky kit for kids?
One of my favourite things about Rockabye Baby clothes is that they come packaged in vinyl sleeves (I’ve saved the packaging – it’s too collectible). Even the clothing tags have cheeky lyrics on them and Ezra enjoyed ‘rapping’ every word.
The babes received different t-shirts — Jed’s rocking a diagonal stripe tee with lightning flash emblem while Ezra’s punking out in the Sid tee. They also got matching reversible hoodies. Boy do I want one of those hoodies for myself — a reversible hoodie dress!
On our recent trip to cover the Brighton Fringe festival, I decided to shoot the boys on Brighton beach in their Rockabye Baby threads. Check out my little poseurs.
I’ve had so many people asking me about this label after spotting the babes about town (and on Instagram and Facebook) so here’s a little background from the site:
‘Rockabye Baby was the brain child of Emma Parkes-McQueen who set up the company just after her first child was born. After working as an Art Director for 8 years Emma popped out a sproglet and life changed. She set up a cool label to make sure her daughter was suitably dressed. Her rallying cry was ‘Enough of the pastel colours! We want bright and beautiful colours that reflect the energy and creativity within every child ( and their rock star qualities too).’ All Rockabye Baby clothing is 100% luxury cotton and is available from newborn to ten years.’
I love supporting independent labels and Rockabye Baby is an indie label with serious attitude. Get your kit on at www.rockabye-baby.com
