When I was growing up, the Notorious PIG on the block was the one and only Miss Piggy. What a diva.
For today’s preschoolers, it’s all about Peppa Pig, who’s not quite as fabulous but does have her own TV show, books, and theme park, and is currently touring the UK in a brand new stage production.
Peppa Pig’s Big Splash is an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular with Peppa and her crew trying to rescue their nursery from a leaky roof. Peppa, brother George, Daddy and Mummy Pig and friends decide to throw a school fete to raise money for repairs, complete with bunting, stalls and games.
Hot on the trotters of past hits Peppa Pig’s Party and Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt, Peppa Pig’s Big Splash features live actors in costume, puppets and tons of audience participation. The show promises everything from musical numbers to puddle jumping fun to brighten up your mood, no matter the weather outside.
You can already book ahead for the Christmas show in London at Criterion Theatre (Dec 2-Jan 4), but if your minis can’t wait until December, here’s where the tour’s heading next:
• Bristol 7th – 8th Oct
• Southampton 10th – 11th Oct
• Bournemouth 15th – 16th Oct
• Clacton-On-Sea 18th – 19th Oct
• Nottingham 25th – 26th Oct
Have a Peppa Pig Weekend!
If you’re planning to catch the show on tour, why not enjoy a mini break at a nearby, affordable and family friendly hotel?
And if your kids really want to pig out on the experience, the hotels also offer brilliant packages for visiting Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park. Their Stay and Play packages include a family ticket to Peppa Pig World/Paulton’s Park and their family rooms come with hot chocolate at bedtime and an award-winning breakfast.
You and your little ones can even get splashy like Peppa and pals with free access to the Holiday Inn’s on-site Spirit Health Club that offers swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Miss Piggy would approve.
