CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LUCKY WINNER ESTHER JAMES! WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR GEAR. NB: THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED, THANKS FOR TAKING PART.
The babes had a blast on their first ski trip last Saturday.
No, we didn’t jet to the Alps for the weekend. But there was real snow (it was minus 3 degrees!), and it felt like a proper escape from central London.
The Snow Centre is just 30 minutes from Euston and a 5 minute taxi ride from the station. The boys were beyond excited, especially when they spotted the Team GB bobsleigh in the lobby.
It was buzzing upstairs where, from behind the registration desk, you could look through the window and see people bombing down the slopes on skis, snowboards and on the new ‘extreme sledging run’, Arctic Alley.
We’d arrived late but ski instructor Lesley was happy to fit the boys in for a half-hour crash course.
The boys couldn’t wait to get into their outfits: Jed had on Muddy Peak Salopettes (£30) and Muddy Peak Ski Jacket (£55) in funky yellow and black.
Ezra was stylin’ in his Arctic Peak 3 in 1 Boys Ski Jacket (£59) and Arctic Peak Salopettes with Braces (£39) designed for ‘sporty stunts and snowy wipeouts’. I loved how warm and well-padded they looked and also that Ezra’s jacket comes with a micro-fleece that you can unzip and wear by itself.
Strapped into helmets and heavy ski boots, the boys moon-walked towards the slopes. One small step…
Lesley and her assistant were very patient with the boys, showing them how to bend, turn their skis in properly, and hold the rope to climb up.
The boys were having a brilliant time, Ezra even managed to do a couple of jumps. They fell over quite a bit, but neither of them complained about the cold (although Jed managed to get snow down his pants)!
And they both passed their Level 1a Beginner lesson with flying colours.
The Snow Centre was a really fun family day out and we’ll definitely go back. It’s a great spot for little ones (and adults like me who need a refresher course!) to build their confidence on the slopes.
Ezra and Jed loved the experience and insisted on wearing their Muddy Puddles gear all the way back home. Cool runnings.
